And it does bring sweet memories back. It is good when it goes well and when it doesn't, it makes you try harder. Striving for excellence is the name of the game and it feels good to play.

Thanks for the kind words about my wife's work. She has been happy all day. I am hoping she will do an icon of the patron saint of bladesmiths next.

Hey Martin,
Your wife does great work. I like it a lot. Did she ever think of painting a smith forging a damascus billet? Try to picture all those orange tones, all those sparks flaying around... I think she would do a great picture of this theme. |

Thanks, She has done a portrait for me and Mastersmith Ronnie Foster. In mine the focus was more on the damascus background instead of the fire and sparks. I will try to attach a photo.

Well the background inspired by damascus patterns is really impressive. I do think it outstands your picture like you sugested... or maybe outstand is not the proper word... I mean, it drags your attention much more to the background than to your picture.
