Barry Lee Hands engraved "Controlled Turbulence" Joe Kious folder

Hi folks, here is my latest engraving on a great Kious with a description from Knife Legends, and the link:

http://www.knifelegends.com/Kious_Ha...urbulence.html

Blade Length: 3 3/4 inches Overall Length: 9 1/8 inches
Closed Length: 5 3/8 inches Sheath/Case: Zipper Pouch

Blade Steel: ATS-34
Bolster/Guard: 416 Stainless Steel
Handle Material: 416 Stainless Steel

Comments: If you are looking for a Masterpiece to be the center of your collection this Joe Kious-Barry Hands. folding dagger could be the knife for you. Joe calls this model his "Double Pocket-Locket" and one look makes it clear why. Both sides of the knife reveal concealed chambers with additional engraving.

This knife is so remarkable it's best to let Barry describe it in his own words.

The most luxurious Barry Lee Hands engraved knife to date is called "Controlled Turbulence" and there is nothing like it on earth!

This piece features Barry's trademark renaissance leaf style on the frame in 22k pink, 24k yellow and 18k green gold. The brightly cut multi-color leaves are overlaid and intertwined with a fully sculpted scroll background with a French gray finish and is surrounded by generous raised borders of 24k yellow gold.

The 130 major leaf elements are set with white and green diamonds, and pink sapphires, as well as white diamonds set in clusters on the four corners of the frame on either side of the high polish file-work spine.

This is three times as much gold and four times as many diamonds and sapphires as we have seen in Barry's previous master works, amounting to approximately one carat in total weight of diamonds and sapphires.

The luscious renaissance ornament extends onto the polished dagger ground blade in 24k yellow gold. There are even six white diamonds set on the blade!

And to top it off the interior of the lockets feature Barry's gold work as seen through a window of exhibition grade exotic material.

This is the most elaborately engraved custom knife we have ever seen or owned and it is absolutely world-class in every way. Truly one of a kind.

Lovely work Barry, with regards to the Gold inlay, is that what you would call Black Hills Gold?
Bruce.

Hi Bruce, the similarity would be in the use of multicolored gold, however the similarity stops there, this work is much more sophisticated, the difference would be readily apparent if the two were compared side by side.
I would say the correct name for this, the name that is used by the collectors and dealers is "Hands renaissance leaf"
or simply " Hands leaf style".
