Sweet blades! Don't forget to hit the Woodworking 101 place across from Grizzly if you don't already know about it. (I just live about 1/4 mile from there. )

Again Ron beautiful knives, your stacked handles are amazing.

As a update, my hand is getting better, I might be able to hold a file in the next month LOL the surgery was a blessing but the recovery takes a long time.

Anyway I look forward to your next set of knives they never cease to make me stare at the pictures. I cannot wait to hold one.

John

Dang Ron, I was just about ready to finish up a knife I've been working on forever, when you showed us how you did your handle stacks. So, now I'm back at the bench, cutting out red paper and copper plates, getting ready to make a really big mess I hope to post a photo of this knife either tomorrow or Monday (if I'm not to embaressed that is). I think your work is just excellant, so much so in fact that I want to try and put a piece of it in my knife. Thanks for sharing the pictures, and techniques

The trip to Grizzly was pretty much a waste of time as they were out of the items I needed. 3/16 end mills, band saw blades.
Thanks everyone for all the nice comments about the knives.

Michael B.- I would like to meet you sometime when we are in Springfield. I went to the woodworking 101 store to buy some black wood and almost choked when I saw the price. They need it a lot worse than I do. Didn't bring a single piece of new wood home. We also went to the other hardwood store and didn't find any bargains to be had either. Shopping for wood in Springfield kind of reminds me of shopping for diamonds. LOL

Hawk, I'm glad to know that your on the road to a hopefully, full and speedy recovery. Keep your spirits up so we can some new blades pretty soon. Can you file with one hand ????

Keith M.- Yes I do make something besides hunting knives. LOL
sometimes !!!!

Robert H. - I think it was Wild Rose that said copping someone's work is the most sincere form of flattery one can receive. I do believe that. Thanks for making me feel like my work is worth copping by using it on your own knives. Feels good to know someone likes my work. Thanks , Ron

WOW!!! your "Regular Stuff" is WAY above regular!!!

Do you bend your "S" guard, or is it just really thick and ground out to shape??

Great looking as always!

God Bless

Mike

Hey Mike, I cold bend the guard. Just stick a piece of 18% N.S. in the vice and wack it with a big hammer. Take it out, turn it around and wack it again. Pretty simple to do. Thats 3/8" thick N.S. that I started with by the way. Ron

Ron,

I'm curious about the central spacer band on each handle. It may be an artifact of the photo (reflections), but it looks a lot like the spacer is made of several sections dovetailed together.

Am I seeing things?

If not, how did you do that?

Frank, Thats a neat idea you got on the dovetailed spacer.
Mine is just the shadow that I get sometimes when I'm taking the picture outside. It's all one piece on both knives, no dovetail at all. Just crappy photo skills on my part.
