wood goodies

I'm constantly getting people offer me handle materials.... antler (tiny little crooked things)
or various woods (scraps of plain looking walnut and other such figureless pieces)

well I sure had a surprise today. now this guy had seen some of the blocks I use and prefer, which I reminded him of over the phone. so when I meet up and am still half way across the parking lot I spotted the several LARGE blocks of cherry burl (1st pic) I felt it worth a bit more serious consideration.

there was also a chunk of chestnut burs (2nd pic), as well as a couple toaster oven size blocks of white oak burl.

I'm wanting to eventually get them all stabilized, but the chestnut, and white oak is for sure going to need it.

suggestions as to where to send them for stabilizing?

I've been on Facebook too much. I was looking for the "Like" button. That is some very pretty wood. You're right, those will make some very nice handles!

I'm envious of you. What a great find.
I would love to see that chestnut on a chef's knife
