Giraffe bone bowie

Hi everyone. This is one I just finished up.
A medium sized bowie style...oal 10 inches.
Forged from 5160, triple edge quenched, triple tempered plus a final temper on the spine
Handle is giraffe bone which I bought at a recent knife show. Great stuf to work with. The tang is tapered and has a white liner.
Guard and pins are copper. Blade was etched.
I am now using an 'edge pro' to sharpen my knives.......this is one very sharp knife.

Thanks.
Kevin

ps..how do you post a picture that shows without linking it to a url?

You just put your URL between a set of image tags

[ IMG ]url[ /IMG ]

I left spaces before and after the IMG in the tags in order to show this but don't put them in your post.

Good-looking handle on that one Kevin. I'd like a closer look at that giraffe bone. The pattern of the pins is great.

More pictures!

Roger

Thanks everyone.

Bob and Wild Rose.....when I copy the photo from my picture host I click on the IMG button then paste it...next time I will type (IMG) before and after the URL and see if that works. Thanks for your help.

Roger, I like that pin pattern as well. I made this knife for a customer who saw a similiar knife I made but with black buffalo horn and brass. He wanted the same, then I showed him the giraffe slabs I had and went for that, he decided that copper would look better than brass. I really do like the giraffe bone. It looks like an old piece of oak. It works like hard woods....files and polishes great.
I will try and get some more pics up. I have one more set of giraffe scales left which I hope to use on something special later..

Thanks again everyone.

Kevin.
