Wanted stick tang filet blades

Hi Guys,

I posted a while ago regarding somebody making me some stainless steel ( rwl 34 or 440c) filet blades.

I had some made by a person ( not on this forum) and they were fine ( or at least looked it) until I fitted one into a shaft, locked it into the slot and it snapped clean off at the tang.

It looks as tho the maker ( and I will not name names for obvious reasons) was not aware of the stress risers that were present at the shoulder tang transition.

The other blade looks ok, but to be honest i have lost all faith in it and will not fit it to a shaft just in case, this thing is razor sharp and well the implications are obvious.

So here we are again.

I am looking for 2 bldes og 165mm long and at least 25 mm acroos the tang. They van either be standard filet design with the upswinhging tip but preferable pointy but strainght backed.

The tang will need to be relatively wide ( about 12 mm) in order to give me something to work with.

The blade itself would need to be fully finished, sharpened and ready o mount.

The choice of steels i have given is above but i am open to other suggestions.

Thanks for your time, i would need to get the knives finished by April 2005, but work slowly.

Best way to contact me is via mail

thanks

They were made with huge stress risers that I never even thought about. when a smith makes you blades you expect them to take that into consideration.
Anyway ray Rogers made these ones for me.. awesomly sharp and are gonna serve just great. shame he never put his stamp on them tho.....
