Stag and Copper
? another ?handle first? construction.
I?m finding, (at least for myself), that with some of these irregular natural handle materials shapes/forms,? starting handle first and profiling the blades to go with them seems to help... We?ll see.
I?m planning on a scrolled guard and big 12 inch hammer finished bowie blade.

Tai--if anyone can forge the blade to fit the handle--its you--and judging from the handle the blade should be great. mike

I do this occasionally with 'pre-formed' handle materials... a good piece of stag who's curve the blade needs to be one with, or maybe bone rounds... I have a nice piece of walrus ivory I plan on working backwards with, I will do nothing to the tusk except polish, and the blade needs to compliment the size and shape. I've never gone so far as to make the fittings first, though, but might as well....

Beautiful... you can really see in the last photo how well the blade compliments the handle.
