Rowan wood wanted

Has anyone on this board ever made something out of rowan wood? I had a Rowan wood handled knife which I loved dearly for years, but the wood was uncured and improperly stored. Anyway, in a recent severe house flood, the wood rotted...a very sad loss. Can any of you folks take on the job of supplying a nice bit of rowan wood suitable for making into a 3 7/8" long knife handle? European or Scandinavian Rowan would be best since it's what I lost, but a dense piece of American Rowan (aka Mountain Ash-Sorbus genus) would also be okay.

Thanks,
RainbowGal
