The Grizzly platen is made with mild steel. I used a 1/4" X 2" X 12" piece of O-01 on top of mine. I beveled and rounded the top and bottom, radiused the edges 1/16", and drilled and tapped three mounting holes prior to heat treat. Heat treat and leave it at full hardness. Brett |

Platen
I took my Grizzly platen in and had it ground flat. Then went to a glass shop and had them cut me a piece of the ceramic glass used in fireplaces. I JB Welded that to the flat platen and it grinds nice and flat and doesn't wear or warp. I did need to deepen the mounting slots to adjust for the extra platen thickness. Dave Evans Tenino, WA |

I was wondering if anyone had contact info on the Grizzly. I'm in the market for a new grinder I'm thinking of a Coote, But keep hearing about Grizzly and have never seen one or where to get one. Any help would be appriated. |
