Hello Guys
I am going to purchase some ATS-34 of admiral steel. The 1/8 is cold rolled and the 3/16 is hot rolled could anyone tell me the difference between the two and if i have to heat treat them any different.
Thanks

Take a look over on the S.R. Johnson forum page. There is a thread on some issues with cold rolled ATS-34.

They should heat treat the same. Personally, I would recommend 154CM from Crucible myself. Contact info is as follows:

Crucible

1101 Avenue H East
Arlington, TX 76011
(817) 640-7777
(800) 365-1168

This is the same basic steel as ATS34 but I understand that Crucible has a little vanadium in their 154CM where ATS34 does not. Besides, its 'merican made!
