Basic Knifemaking Class

Oh yeah, Basic Knifemaking Class with Mr. Daniel starts tomorrow and I am as excited as a 6 year old on Christmas Eve. I am really looking foward to learning how to do it right!

Anybody else going?

Robb

Phillip and I will be there. We're there for all the classes.

Yes, we do go hands-on. It's almost impossible not to.

See you in the morning.

Should be a great class. You will definitely have some great instructors.

The class was great. Travis, Barry and Phillip did a super job and all the knives turned out really good. These guys are fantastic teachers and are eager to share their knowledge and experiences. I wish I could sign up for another class already or even take the Basic one over as I am certain I could learn more the second time around. You just can't soak up everything that is coming at you in four days. You can tell that Travis loves to pass on his wisdom and he showed us some methods he has developed that make the process a little easier. Barry eagerly took me to school with some one to one guidance and I talked Phillip into helping me heat treat a side job that I brought in to work on. If you haven't signed up for one of these classes I would encourage you to do so. I feel sure they have an offering that would be beneficial to everyone at some level.

Thanks again gentlemen for your time, patience and guidance.

Robb

Thank you, Robb.....

For taking the class and for the wonderful comments.

I'm going to try and get all the pics I shot during the class resized and on a disk for Travis. I had planned on doing that before now but I had to meet a deadline getting a few knives done. They really ate up my time. Plus, I'm leaving for a few days very early tomorrow morning.

Here is the link to all the class pics. Sorry but most are not great pics. I still am learning how to properly shoot pics.

Travis,

You should be able to get individual links for all these pics. Use them however you like.

I forgot to post a picture of the knife I came away with so here it is. Its 5/32" ATS-34 with a hollow grind and maroon micarta handle material.

Travis, I will put the pics I took on a disc and mail them to you. I am not as advanced as Barry.

I looked at the photos and it looks like a great group. Rob I agree with you about Travis, Phillip and Barry they are great people and fantastic instructors. It all shows in the nice knives you all made. If you make it to the Guild meeting in October make sure you bring your knives and show them off .
