Yes. It came in a flat piece. something like 2" x 1/8" x36"
Mine was not made by crown though. It was made by Paulin. I have not been able to find a website for them though. |

Just figured I'ld give an update for those interested... I finally got an email from Crown Bolt Inc and the steel I got from home depot is soft, unhardened, low carbon, 1010 Steel. So I guess I'll just start practicing file work on it. I'm going to order some O-1 steel from the florida knife supply place soon when I get the extra money. Until then I'm using mower/trimer blades and saw blades.

first knife
Abbadon,
I just started also. I am a scounge and try to look for cheap ways to go. Try flea markets, garage sales and don't forget about small mechanic shops (Like a spring and brake shop). If you can find old hammers at the garage sales and flea markets, most of the handles will be hickory. Makes a good knife handle. Also I was reading the other night and found an interesting article that sounds like it would fit the bill for you. I will try and find it. Here it is. http://www.hossom.com/tutorial/jonesy/CHEAPS~1.PDF Last edited by Anthony Chaney; 07-06-2003 at 11:20 PM. |
