Ed and Jim
Hi guys! It was busy weekend for me. I had a lot of yard work to do after a bad hail storm that hit late in the
day on the 4th. I raked until I wore some holes in my hands. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper I had the grass, trees and flowers doing pretty well too, prior to the storm. I can only image how tough it must be as a farmer. Anyhow, I also spent most of the day on the 4th (after our 2hour parade in little Monument) helping a fellow knifemaker and friend (Graham Fredeen) haul a 900+ lb K.O.Lee surface grinder that he purchased. Nice unit too. I also got some shop time in for getting some work done for the upcoming PKA show. As usual, I'm a day late and dollar short . Regarding the sea-sickness, Ed, Sandy and I did some reading up and that scopolamine is supposed to be the best med with the least amount of side-effects. It's pricey but we figured it worth the price if we need it. We have enough, I think, if Cindi feels like she'd like to give a patch a try. We are sooooo pumped after seeing those pics, Jim! Yeeee haaaaa! Well, back to work Take care, gang! Dana |

nice day on the water
Here are a few pics from today. I guess the guys lost a couple big spring salmon but managed to pick up a 45 lb halibut. They also saw a couple wales up close. The boat in the background is the boat I built.

How cool is that!
That is such a great shot of the whale fluke. Sandy is really looking foward to seeing some of these
guys in the wild. I've been meaning to ask you for a while now; what type of material is that boat fabricated out of? Is it something like heavy aluminum plate or steel? That takes some REAL skill, I'm sure, to weld somthing like that up and then expect it to float and run! Thanks Jim, Dana |

Aluminum

The boat is all aluminum. I hope it keeps floating as well. Jim |

Octopus
Dylans big catch of the day.
Took some pics and released it off the wharf. Neat to see it swim away squirting the brown dye. Jim Last edited by boatbuilder; 03-23-2011 at 09:54 PM. |

Good size octopus Jim. Those things always gave me the willies when they're feisty and sticking to everything. Not bad eating if it's made up right.
Who's gonna hold on to Ed's feet when he's bobbing for abalone off the end of the dock. Hope you folks catch a full spread buffet, Craig |

Cool Jim!
The "Menu" just keeps getting better and better!! All kinds of fish,....prawns, crabs, octopus.....now if we could just figure out a way to hook into one of those sea otters, we could have some "red" meat on the menu too! Yea I know, some "bunny hugger" is gona read this and just freak out. __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES." |

South Africans loaded up with fish today
Well, what a day. The south African buddies had an awesome day on the pacific. Out of 8 of them only 2 of them were chumming. They did manage to bring in a lot of fish. It took a long time to clean all the fish. They are all a great bunch of guys. We're happy they joined us for a weekend of great fishing.
Jim The cook decided to go and try to catch some supper in the afternoon. He was only gone for about an hour and brought home this 31 lb spring salmon. Last edited by boatbuilder; 03-23-2011 at 09:54 PM. |
