It goes and comes. The "Bad Boy" music topic I think is a good example of folks wanting to talk other things once and a while. That's the good thing about the Outpost--we can talk about other things, and it's OK, as long as folks remain civil. On some other forums I've seen posts deleted by the moderator because they were off topic--like on one knife forum about custom knives, topics were deleted because the subject matter touched on production knives.

We are all knifemakers at some level or another in the craft, and we always will want to discuss knifemaking subjects. But we are a creative, thoughtful and diverse group of PEOPLE too, who have much to say on other topics. I do not think it hurts to talk about other things now and then, as long as we eventually get back to knifemaking and the forum doesn't become a forum dedicated to some other topic. I for one, enjoy our "tangents" immensly.

Tangent on, Bros'.

NOTHER QUESTION.

A boat has ladder with six rungs, each rung is is a foot apart .
The bottom rung is a foot from the water.

The tide risea at 12 in. each 15 minutes, high tide peaks in one hour.

How many rungs will be covered in one hour?

Sweany with a tide like that is this boat in the Bay of Fundy?

I think any normal person (I'm not sure that's the correct description of the folks who visit the the outpost regularly, but you get my gist) gets a bit tired of discussing the same subject, especially if it's just a rehash. I for one am like Dana and love the tangents - I was surprised and immensely pleased when my Bad Boy post took off.

Is the boat sinking or does it float--or are all the rungs already covered because the boat is already sunk? Who says we can't make something difficult out of something simple?

Since it's Steven Hawkings birthday today (along with mine I actually survived to make the big 50) I'll say pi to the 70th power times e/mc less the speed of light. Am I close?

Of course anybody who saw my picture over on the Bad Boy post ain't gonna believe I'm only fifty! Guess it ain't true after all that the good die young .

Wish I could make your hammer-in, but that's a bit too far to drive and I refuse to fly so...

Have fun and I plan on seeing you here next year.

Ok it will reach the 4th rung in one hour so it has fully covered 3 rungs - does that make it 4 or 3 or maybe the martians stopped the tide from rising and....

Down the Rio Grande to the Gulf of Mexico around Florida and....Might make it by April!

Thanks boys!

Just another day old and deeper in debt though! Of course I got friends like you so that helps.

Come to think of it the last time I was on a boat it wsn't so much fun either. Got caught in a storm just north of Vancouver Island. Nasty Nasty Nasty. Four guys and only one survival suit. Get dumped in the water up there without one and your life span is about 10 minutes tops. Finally made it far enough south and got into the lee of the island. Gene knows about them northwest winds.

Had a few get togethers back in the old days where sometimes things did go two or three months. Well at least some of the boyos decided to stick around. Drank a LOT of beer and actually got some things done. Even built a log cabin one time - started getting cold and we needed some place to get under cover. Wonder if Jonesey still owns that place?

Chuck
