INTERNATIONAL ORANGE !! Its Fibermascus again...

For those of you who haven't come across it, Fibermascus is made by Gary Riner. This is just one of many interesting materials that Gary produces - think of it as custom-made Micarta - it also grinds better and doesn't smell !!

This is a "Zapper" model compact personal knife. I'm not sure how this one will go, particularly with the colour - I reckon it could be seen from miles away !! The "grain" on the nylon-based International Orange is there, but its very subtle. I did the jigged work just to fancy it up a little. Its black filled on one side and white on the other. Thanks for looking. Jason.

I wondered what that glow was in the Southern Skies.

It's ....catchy, I think I like it.

Could be the go for a handle for a fishing knife, they certainly use some bright colours. Or some other outdoor activities where dull and drab is not a requirement.

I like it. Of course I would. Look around; anyone notice why...?

Keep it up , Jason!

Thanks guys.

BTW, thought you might find this info interesting.

I originally purchased some of that INternational Orange from Gary for a customer (ambulance officer / paramedic) who wanted me to make him a "Rescue" knife very similar to this one but it would have a rounded blunt tip in RWL-34. But then he was told by his boss that any equipment used in a "Major incident" eg.- major car crash / fatality, would have to be bagged for the coroner / investigators, including personal equipment and belongings. Needless to say, he wasn't happy and we cancelled the order. Jason.

I like the blade size and shape, it's perfect for a personal/pocket knife.

The orange looks ideal for a rescue knife. I'm glad people are using fibermascus, it looks like really good stuff. I want to try some!

Roger

I really like that fibremascus that Gary makes, and I've been thinkin' about ordering some. The international orange is definately on my must get to make something with list, and it's close to the top.

As alway's, I'm impressed by the work that you do, and all in your spare time, too.

Great job, and how much?

Trenton

Neat little knife! The first thing that hit me was "rescue". I have a brother in-law trying to finish up his paramedic school. I just might have get some of this before next Christmas!

Hmmm....If we used orange fibermascus on a hunter model...would it count towards the 144 sq in visible orange requirement for hunting?

I've been using Gary's Fibermascus for about a year now, it is neat stuff to work with.
The possibilities are endless.

MAN !! I have been trying to sell that idea to some local hunters for a while now. I was making some hunters in the bright blue G10, Red G10 and now here's this colour that can be seen for miles. Very few takers. Try convincing experienced hunters that deer are colour blind and they can't see red, orange, blue and camo is cool but the deer don't really care ??? !! Jason.
