Tom,
They need to paint with a bigger brush and you.....need...."patience". Remember: One queston per member and then additional questions..later. It ain't quite later enough. Most process of elimination games are solved fairly soon. We are not talking about the weeks of "building" one. I would like for everyone who wants to have a chance at this Randall to be able to post some kind of guess/question. It'll happen soon enough. I will "throw you a bone", however, along with the other folks out there: How's this: While many Randall knives come standard with a certain "type" of handle, or "style" of handle, or "type" of material, many of them are also available with a wide variety of "optional" handle materials, shapes, etc. This Randall is one of these models. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
P.S. Don't ya' think I'd have made a great politician? CCS

Oops, sorry. Let me know when later gets here.
I sound like my grandson.

" P.S. Don't ya' think I'd have made a great politician? CCS"

Pretty slippery!

True enough but I don't think the Captain can order any dealer specials except his own Stanaback Special. If that is not so he and I have to talk!

Dealer Specials

Used to be, in days gone by, that Randall dealers would help each other out from time to time. Any "authorized" Randall knife dealer that calls me needing one of my "Specials" for a customer, will always get it as soon as I can manage it. Several dealers and I have had this mutual practice in the past. The problem is that most dealers are so backed up nowadays that it makes this practice real tough. Best bet is to get in touch with that particular dealer and place the order. That's what I do. I have an 8" Sasquatch on order from Doug right now. It has been close to a year and I know it still has a bit to go. No big deal. It'll get here when it gets here. This is pretty humorous: Often I will call a customer, telling him his Randall order is due out, and arrange for the balance to be paid. The customer, who has been waiting several years by this time, will say something like: "Can you charge me a little more and send it next day air"? That one always slays me! Best for now, Captain Chris Stanaback

Hi Cap!

You said: "C) Moose: "NO", I think. (Did you mean a Captain Chris Stanaback Special, or a "Sportsman's" Bowie?) Both are a part of my official business name."

Since the knife has at least a 5" blade, I know it can't be a Stanaback "Special".

I meant a "Sportsman's" Bowie!

Methinks think I'm on to something guys...

Cheers!

Moosehead

Moose is "on" something

Moose,
You may be "on" something, but you are not "onto" something. The answer is still a resounding "NO". I just wanted a clarification, as do many southern folks after a conversation with you, as to exactly what model you were referring to. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

That was supposed to be a # 5 not a 3 5.

Still goin'

Steve,
Answer: "NO"
Crimson Tide. See, how it works, is,uh, it's kinda like this, man. If I tell the members that they have to wait for additonal questions, then...like...shouldn't that apply to the mods as well?
All members and mods can start the second volly of questions at 10:00 A.M. eastern. Fair enough? Bye for now, Captain Chris Stanaback
O.K. Another hint: Don't ask if the Randall I am thinking about is a model #5-5", etc. when I've already stated that the Randall I'm thinking about is "over" 5" in blade length. CCS

Cap,

OOPs. I'll pretend I'm an attorney in court and "withdraw the question"
I'll try later, sorry about that.

Round #2

Good morning to ya'll, also. Round #2 has started. I think there will be great strides taken today to unveil the true identity of my "thinker" Randall. Let's begin:
A) Moose: The answer is "YES"
B) Mike: The answer is "NO"
No hints just yet. Keep 'em comin'. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
