Captain, is your knife a 6-9" with ivory handle and a coolie cap?

Well done Azgator!

So now back to Cap's guessing game...

We know the knife "is" a Model #6-9".

Does it have a rounded NS butt cap, and a cut down hilt, sandwiching a stag handle?

Cheers!

Moosehead

P.S. Have any of you noticed how the Captain's language has been influenced by his Canadian pal? Cool, eh?

Actually, Moose, when I hear the Captain's "eh," I hear a salty, southern sound. Your "eh" is a more clinical, clear and northern sounding. Definitely two different words with the misfortune to be spelled the same way. You know, like you would say "I will climb a tree." I might say My father is seventy - tree, and too old to clumb a tree.

Really, oh northern one, you really must learn to listen for the dialect! And as the Fonz would say, "Ehhh!"

O.K., folks,

Raindog: Your guess, while sounding interesting is wrong.
Moose: Same goes for you.
HINT: In order to guess the configuration of this "really tricked-out" Model #6-9", ya'll need to start at the beginning and "work your way back"!!
Also: Dialect lesson for the "Mooseman". Proper southern explanation of Raindog's attempt to explain my drawl. "There ain't no use to have Daddy climb that tree, it's done been clumb before"!!
Now: That's southern!! Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

No, Tom. Sawteeth are not an option on a Model #6-9". Another hint: It isn't really "called" a Model #6-9" "Carving knife", at least not by me. It is a Model #6-9", "Large Filet Knife". Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

ALL RIGHT.....a tricked out big long Model 6. The full size Model 6 blade is very sexy. The first thing I thought when I got my old standard Model 6 "turkey slicer" was that this knife would be really nice in different versions. First different version would be with a single regular hilt to make a nice BIG" field knife and second way to trick it out would be with a double hilt and made up to be a big long lighter weight fighter. I have one on order one way from the shop and another on order the other way from Rick Ward. Seems like I remember when I was deciding on options for these that there were quite a few limitations that the shop set that made it tricky to order either way and go very far with options.

#6-9"

Jeff,
You're on the right track. It is a Model #6-9", Large filet knife, stainless steel, thumb notches, and a nickel silver single hilt (for starters). More to come......
Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

Cap Chris,
....If I remember correctly you can get it with a butt plate but a regular butt cap is not an option. Is that right? All the different color and material spacers are availabe? And you can order with the fork and sparpening steel in the roll with a leather sheath for the knife only.
Jeff

Jeff,
Butt caps are available. Look on Crimson Tide's new thread. There are pictures of one of my Large filets and a #6 grind 5" also. Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

Pepe,
No, I'm sorry. No nickel silver coolie cap.
Best, Captain Chris Stanaback
Hint: This is not a "trick" answer. There is no "coolie" cap of any metal. CCS

Hi Jeff!

I asked that question last week and here was Cap's response: "Good morning, Moosehead,
"NO", it does not have a butt plate..."

You really must read all the posts...

However you are partially correct since once the #6 is completed, you will need a plate on which to carve the butt...

Cheers!

Moosehead

I have trouble remembering where I was last week. Do you suppose this problem will improve with age?
