Out of left field again...

I started a knife almost 10 years ago. It was the one and only time I've used O-1 to my recollection. I did not taper the tip correctly as this was a very early knife for me. I did an 8" hollow and got very thin at the tip.
I started a guard but the tip was just unforgiveable and I had no faith in it. I sharpened it and used it as a shop knife for a while.
Then it was my favorite throwing knife.
I practiced different finishes on it; sand-blasted, hand-sanded, polished, etched, etc.

Eventually, I came to the conclusion that this was a #### good knife despite the poor geometry.

Recently, I was refinishing an old gun. I looked at this beat up old blade sitting ingloriously on the corner of the bench, dusty and forgotten. I took the guard off and cleaned it up. I reinstalled it and ground the blade to get rid of the thin tip even though it performed great.

Some fine tuning and a coat of Duracoat made it ready for the polished G-10 handles.

Here she is..., a slightly modified version of Field Mate design.
The last picture is post-epoxy and pin grinding.
