Alpha Knife Supply?

As you guys saw in my other post I am looking for some 1080. Alpha Knife Supply lists a pretty good selection. Anybody have any experience dealing with them and their products? Any other good sources for steel, esp local?

I've ordered quite a bit of 1080 from Kelly Cupples http://www.hightemptools.com/steel.html
Good steel and good service, and I believe orders over $100 ship free.
Last time I bought some this is what I got:

46583 1 X 1/8 HR RE C1080 18'10
(CUT: 144" + DROP)
Chemical Analysis:
C 0.7700 Mo 0.0000
Mn 0.6200 Cr 0.0000
P 0.0170 Cb 0.0000
S 0.0180 V 0.0000
Si 0.2000 Al 0.0000
Cu 0.0000 B 0.0000
Ni 0.0048 Sn 0.0000

592221 1 X 3/16 HR SE C1080 12'
AS ROLLED
Chemical Analysis:
C 0.7940 Mo 0.0080
Mn 0.7800 Cr 0.0430
P 0.0140 Cb 0.0000
S 0.0010 V 0.0000
Si 0.2370 Al 0.0290
Cu 0.0850 B 0.0000

Hardens up nicely in canola or parks 50, and shows up nice and dark patternwelded with 15n20... Forges easily.

Edited to add: just noticed what Alpha knife supply is selling is 1080+, which has .6% chromium... reminds me of 5160 with more carbon... a different breed of 1080 than what Kelly is selling.

Thanks GHEzell. I have heard this gentleman mentioned in other threads. I appreciate the heads up on the 1080+ vs 1080. You probably kept me from wandering off track.

The Bybee's of Alpha Knife supply are as good as gold, IMO. I've dealt with them many times.
