Thin Fiber spacer source
Steve,
I read in the thread Result, that thin fiber spacer was hard to come by. I found some here-http://usaknifemaker.com/handle-material-hardware-c-95/spacer-and-liner-material-c-95-72/vulcanized-liner-spacer-material-red-fiber-015-8-x11-5.html Tracy seems to have it in different colors. When you go to to this page-http://usaknifemaker.com/handle-material-hardware-c-95/spacer-and-liner-material-c-95-72.html you have to scroll down pretty far before you get to the different colors. Regards, Fred |

That is such great news, Fred. This is such great news for those who like to use the thin red spacer material!
Thank you for the heads-up. I've ordered some! http://usaknifemaker.com/handle-mate...5-8-x11-5.html After ordering, I got this note from Tracy: [QUOTE] Hi Steve, We have plenty of it and will always carry it. No worries. Hope things are going well for you. Thank you, Fred. Hope the DVD is of help.
BTW: Upon returning from ECCKS, I had a note from USA Knifemaker.com and they say that they only carry the dark red, which is more rust colored. The rust color works OK, but the bright red is a little more red. I've used the rust many times with no ill effects. __________________ http://www.srjknives.com NRA Endowment Member Knifemakers' Guild Member since 1971 "May you live all the days of your life." - Jonathan Swift Last edited by Steve; 03-07-2013 at 04:01 PM. |

Alpha Knife Supply carries all colors of thin G10. By the way, I have been told that the vulcanized material doesn't hold up very well - G10 is far superior.

Sounds good. How do they work in the bend, at the front of the handle material, at the guard/bolster area?
What thicknesses are available? __________________ http://www.srjknives.com NRA Endowment Member Knifemakers' Guild Member since 1971 "May you live all the days of your life." - Jonathan Swift |
