I like the pitted knife, is that from forging? 15N20 is a good steel by itself, but the thickest it comes is 1/8" thick. What are the handles made from?

Correct. I've never found it any thicker than 1/8" either. The handle on the first knife is inlace acrylester and black micarta split.

It looks good.
I have used the inlace stuff and it has a brilliant appearance, but getting the tang even with it is a pain. I only use it on hidden tangs now.

Hmm, I thought it shaped a lot like soft pine. I haven't had much issues with it but I did learn quick while installing pins/corby screws that this stuff will shatter like glass if it sees much pressure from the inside out.
I just noticed you aren't too far from me. What do you think about our warm Christmas ? Ha.
