A Most Unusual Request...

Once in while, you get a request that's too intriguing to ignore.
That was the case here...

A joint anniversary/birthday gift commissioned by my client.
The concept is an octave of keys framed [with the associated ebony keys] as a presentation gift
for a concert pianist [his sister] and her husband.

I couldn't resist this opportunity to do something out of the ordinary...!
The uniqueness of this sentimental gift hooked me from the start.
I think it came off well.

Tim

Very classy Tim. Don't you love it when things like the number of letters in their names falls into place for the project!

Tim:

That is really great, BUT, where on the piano do 6 sharps (ebony keys) occur together like that?

MG, Yes, I found that unusual as well...The client selected the order of keys he wanted displayed,
and was more concerned with something balanced [to him] rather than technically correct.

A bigger challenge for me is taking someone's concept, and make it work somehow.
...And in some cases...make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!...

Very nice Tim. Now you'll have to make her a necklace to match.

I agree! Wheres the "full key" neklace! Too bad it would be so much work to engrave to do. I think the neklace would have been a "key" fixture - in the laugh department! How about one done with INDIA INK (fast and acceptable) or is it too late?
