engraved dagger

Here is a dagger I just finished. The handle is redwood burl with siver wire. The guard is stainless, I broke a lot or graver tips on it.

Beautiful work Dave. What series of stainless did you use for the guard as some are much easier on gravers than others. Some engravers wont even touch some of the 300 series.416 is great, although not as stain resistant as the 300's.

Nice work. I like that dagger VERY much.

I was also thinking the guard is perhaps in the 300 series. I've seen a lot of comments that 300 stainless is tough and the recommendation is to stay away from it!
