A little different

Hi Guys and gals.
just finished this one a couple days ago and finally got some pictures of it tonight
before sending it out. When I first saw the knife I knew I would do something along
these lines as far as engraving, I don't know why, I think maybe because the scales reminded me of tree bark. I think it turned out pretty cool and I think it works well with the knife. I don't know what the little black smudges are in the close up they weren't there
on the knife, hmmmm camera bugs.
Thanks for looking
Darren

I like the effect Darren.

The repeating elements have a nice sense of depth.
Using gold veins was a good choice to add color and interest.
I think it would look sort of bland without the gold.
This is one of those designs that you could take to different levels, such as multi-colored inlay or sculpting [budget considerations aside].

Tim

Hi Darren

That is pretty cool........I really like it. Simple, yet complex.

The blade looks nice. The engraving is great! Too bad about the wood on the handle.

?????????????? Strange, coming from one who lists "knifemaking, woodworking" as interests. Surely you jest?

This is Fossil Whale Bone (and, very, very striking at that!).
