And your twisted wire border added to this one, wow.
Best.

Berry, you are doing some really great stuff. I was wondering how you did the leaves on the blade. Are you etching, or sandblasting the blade and then cutting with a high speed handpiece; or are you using Heavy Water (acid Etchto do the leaves?

twisted wire border.

Barry there you go again coming up with new ideas never done before. Just beautiful! Could you tell me how you do the twisted rope border? what is the shape of the cavity and how is it undercut? How do you set the gold without flattening any part of it? I would also like to know how to do a flat raised gold border about .015-.020 high and keep it nice and flat.
My health is deteriorating and I would love to be able to do just these 2 things. I have been playing with a lot of gold inlays lately and its driving me nuts. What do you undercut with? I cant seem to get the gold to stay in the groove! Ive tried the old real undercutting method and the new underpunching tools by Roland and Julie and have no luck with either. Would you please help and old geezer like me? Thank you in advance and gorgeous work, Barry.

Best wishes and happy holidays from Tim Herman. If you would like to know about my color engraving I would be more than happy to teach you the complete technique.
