A perfectly simple hunter by Russ Andrews
Here's a kife that is equally well-descibed as being perfectly simple and simply perfect.
This sweet little hunter features a 4 1/2" clip point blade of forged 1084 carbon steel and a real nice piece of black walnut with multiple grained stripes flowing through the wood. The moderately scuplted handle is a model of comfort and ergonomic design. The fittings are stainless steel and the whole knife exhibits the kind of flawless execution that I have come expect from Russ. The satin finish of the blade has to be seen up close and personal to be really appreciated. You can get spoiled for a lot of other knives with a finish like this. Congrats on another great knife Russ! And now I patiently wait for the matching bowie.... Cheers, Roger |

Yep, I got to manhandle this one for a week or so, until it made it to it's rightful owner. It is everything Roger posted, and more. Someone made a comment about "that plunge cut". Guess what? The other side of that plunge cut looks EXACTLY like the other one.

Thanks for all the great comments.......
I've developed a fondness for that general style, and really like clean steel and ornate woods. That piece of walnut came from the Bishop Gunstock sawmill in about "73 or "74. Again.... THANKS |
