My largest knife yet

Total knife length - 14.5", blade - 9"
Materials: ebony and 1/4" thick O-1 steel. I was thinking about tapering the handle but decided that I prefer a "heavy" feeling it gives you. Didn't even drill extra holes in the handle to lighten it. I am out of hidden screws and used 1/4 SS tubes. Hope I didn't comprimized handle strength too much. I did notched tubes and steel handles before gluing.

Awsome job! It turned out really clean. Did you flare the tubing or just gave it an inside taper grind? If the tubing is flared it should help secure the scales.

That is one to be very proud of for certain!

Alex, That is very nice.First class,Ofcourse I've come to expect nothing less from you.
As for flaring the tubing,I use a drill slightly larger than the tubeing and bevel the edges of the hole.I took a C clamp and used the pointed tip of a tubing flare tool.Inserted my tubes, flared both sides then sand smooth.I also use a large pointed steel rod hammer and anvil.

This is a great knife guys, I got to hold this one a couple of days ago and it feels just-right in your hand. Alex said he likes the heavy feeling, but it balances well and ends up it feeling lighter than something like a ka-bar, even though it's bigger.

Top-notch work Alex, as usual.

Regards,
