New Framelock

Thought you folks might enjoy this one: My latest Coral Reef folder. The blade is 2 1/2" S30V x 1/8" thick with a satin finish. OAL is 6 inches. The frame is .100" titanium, anodized and beadblasted.

Peter-

Been wondering what you've been up to...haven't seen you post anything here for some time. Now we know...

I especially like the pattern on the handle...

So you anodized the Ti and then bead blasted the pattern over it? Neat effect...very innovative...the coral pattern is very "South Seas"

A pleasure to see your work...

Dennis

Yeah Baby!

PS. FYI- As I'm finally ready to start making my own folders from scratch, your video is at present cued up in my VCR 8o

Thanks for the kind words Dennis. These patterned designs are really fun to do and I think the results are worth the extra work. I haven't been making a whole heck of a lot lately because I'm buried with work at my "other" job. But now I'm putting out a few knives. And if I'm lucky and the Gods are smiling upon me I'll be doing some custom flashlights, if you can believe it.

Can't wait to see what you're making!

Peter-

I guess you missed my latest...it's over in the "Fine Embellishments" forum under the heading "Snakewood/Eagle GX6 Upgrade"...hope you like...

Sorry you're forced to be "distracted" by that job thing...unfortunate, but a frequent requirement so that we get to play here.

Dennis

Yeah Baby

I'd like to see some pictures of custom flashlights. That's a neat idea that I've never heard of.

Nice knife. Great pattern on the handle. That must have taken some time.

Thanks guys, I keep trying!

The flashlight project is with a local machinist. He is mesmerized with my Surefires and especially the Arc LS. So we're working on a custom LED light. Might have a prototype in aluminum completed in a week or two followed by a short run of them. After that, maybe a VERY small quantity run in titanium....

Here's two tacticals that I finished today:

And another that I finished over the weekend......I call this one "the Beast" since it's a 4 inch blade of 3/16" 440C in an 1/8" ti frame with 1/8" G10 handles. A real handful!

Great work Peter, looks like you've been busy with knives as well as the 'other' job. Nice to see you working in different styles too.

Roger

Great color and I love the way you ground the blade. Your skills have increased a great deal in the last year.

Peter,

As another who is making folders of S30V, out of curiousity how do you finish your blades? I have been grinding the bevels to 400 grit and polishing (as best that I can) the ricasso. Since I build mostly users, this has been acceptable to the buyers but I would like to know what finish you use and how they have been accepted by the public.
