Ok I had to try a dagger.

Ray. You should have known I wouldn't sleep till I gave it a try. Lol. See what Sunday chat does to me? It's not perfect, and only rough ground. Plenty of time to screw it up. I still dont like the handle. But I left enough meat to work it A little. Here is my dagger attempt so far. Both sides.

That looks like it might be small enough that you could make a boot sheath for it, turn it into a boot knife ....
