something ULU-ish ?

a quick experiment and quite happy with it

my Ulu version with a big boy knife handle.....
almost 8'' long with a 2-3/4'' skinner edge
canvass micarta grip with a few brass pins for hardware......
a gun blue acid etch tumble finish
blade is 1084 with a razor 'arm shavin' edge......
not sure on sheath design as of yet, may do a piggy back style with a big brother hunter.....

anyways not to fancy....quick turnaround on this one

tried to take a pic of the hollow grind here......

going to fit nicely in hand.......,like the feel already

really comfortable , nice even roll in the grip from knife tip to the butt , pleased
thanks for looking

That would make a nice little deer skinner. I like it. And I like that finish too!

The "ulu" shape seems to be coming back around recently. I had 8 traditional styled ulus ready for the Blade Show, but have sold all but one since Feb. Guess I better fire up and knock a few more out. Time is short.
May go ahead and forge a few like yours, just to see if it's the shape their after.

Nice work Rob. Like to see the piggy back sheath when you're done. I've done a few but never been fully satisfied with the final "look".

look forward to seeing your take on them , make sure you post up a pic or 2 when done.
If you want a picture of the template profile just pm me your email address and I'll send it to you , pretty straight forward design but if you want no problem...

Rob
