A Riverboat Gambler's Knife

I wanted to give this one a 19th century feel so I used the blade profile & handle of a Samuel Bell knife of the 1840's. (Bell was best known for his "long & pointy" type Bowies.)
The blade is of an experimental can mosaic pattern.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks.

Gary

Well first off, looks beautifully executed and seems to fit the theme you described absolutely perfectly. Second, the pattern on that blade is fantastic. WHY CAN'T I LIKE THIS EVEN MORE????

Gary can you post a close up shot of the handle assembly please ?

Also what is the Handle and furniture made up of , is it an integral ?

The over all knife looks very good , I love your Pattern welded steel of Aces an 8's it turned out awesome .

Thanks, Robert,

The handle is of interior mastodon with 416 fittings. Since it has such a "busy" Damascus pattern in the blade, I wanted a plain white handle. The raised ricasso area is pinned to the blade and not integral. The guard & frame tang handle were made normally with the two escutcheon pins being through pins to attach the handle.

Well Done Gary ,

I really think any other type of handle would have took away from the knife as well . your fit and finish is stellar also . Fine Craftsmanship Sir .
