Don't give up -- don't ever give up !!
Surprise, surprise -- not every piece of leather yields a perfect sheath. In fact if I could learn from all my mistakes I'd be eligible for Mensa by now
This one started out as a sheath for a Jerry Hossom Stilleto, a wonderful small fighter, but with a sharply pointed and slightly hooked guard. Despite my best efforts to measure the throat width accurately, when it was all sewed up it was 1/4" too tight, and there is no way that hooked guard will draw from this sheath -- catches and locks in place every time, hardly a plus for a fighter !! BUT, lo and behold, the sheath fits one of my Gerome Weinand drop point hunters, with a much more conventional smallish guard, like a glove. So never give up -- even our mistakes can be useful, in life as well in sheath making. BTW, this was also an experiment with using a small pebble-grain background stamp, which accounts for the textured surface. What mistake?
Mike, my friend-- that was no mistake, it was just made out of sequence, and a nice job it was, too! Sandy

Looks good to me Mike. I may have something to show you in a couple of weeks. I will have to consult with you a couple more times before I am done.
