Chief's Head, 4th of July (no knife content)
This is a particularly well-named geographic feature, located near the SE corner of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Chief's Head - the idea is that the chief is sleeping or possibly wounded/killed in battle. That's Pagoda Mountain in the distance on the left, and Mount Meeker (13,911 ft.) to the right.
Chief's Head is part of the backdrop for our small community volunteer fire & rescue department. Here they are early on the morning of the 4th of July, getting ready for the parade at noon in Allenspark township. |

Brings back some memories. Years ago I drove through that impressive park .The hail storm where I was IN the clouds ! A little diner that was in the park where I stopped for blackberry pie made from locally picked berries ! Great scenery .
