Bear Bowie

Forged from 1065 with etched wrought iron guard and stabilized and dyed elk antler. This one is for a customer that gave me allot of artistic #######. He just wanted wrought iron and elk antler on it. My favorite words from customers "Surprise me".

It was stone finished to 400 grit and then deeply etched in FC and 20% vinegar.

The display stand is douglas fir and the half rounds are some old growth fir limb that have an oval cross section with extremely tight grain. Since the lower extended part of the guard is tapered I cut a dove tail on the half round. That way the guard slides in and locks bayonet style.

Good lookin knife Brian! The stand almost looked like amber when I first looked at it. I agree, the best words you can hear are: "use your imagination"...Bud
