An introduction is in order
Hello!!
My name is Steve (debonair) and I just joined this knife forum. I've been a fan of fixed blade hunting knives since the mid 60's, but my curiosity was peaked by my youngest daughter's boyfriend, who makes his own fixed blade hunting knives. I retired in 2008, after 26 years employed as a train mechanic. My main hobby is constructing guitar and stereo vacuum tube amplifiers. I worked as a radio technician (1st class FCC ####### since 1974) in my younger days, and was responsible for the repair and maintenance of all manner of recording, play back, and transmitting equipment. I became an 'accidental' train mechanic after my last FM radio station went belly up.  The local RR was looking for a mechanic with an electrical background, and a friend recommended me to his supervisor. Anyway, I'm happy as pie to be here, and hope to learn (and hopefully contribute when I can) more about this interesting hobby of ours. Take care, Steve
