Mandi's Second Wedding Gift

This one was a lot of fun! An all Titanium Wedding Cake set. The knife blade and the cake server are both .090" 6AL4V titanium. I forged the cake server, then cleaned it all up, finished it to 2000 grit, then did some selective texturing, anodizing, then some more texturing.

The Cake Knife has a 9" blade, with .155" thick Titanium handle scales. I've spent the last two full days at the engraving bench, engraving, texturing. After anodizing the scales, I cleaned off the flats with 2000 grit, so the purple anodized engraving would "pop". I also masked the blade's edge before anodizing......can you guess that Mandi's wedding colors are purple and silver?

Now if I can just keep my mouth shut until here future husband Tim arrives on the 23rd.....

And the reverse sides.....

Thanks Everyone!

I had a fella email me, asking how much I would charge for a set like that......I just had to tell him I don't think I wanna make another like it! Maybe someday, but for now the "labor of love" that went into this set gives me that "warm and fuzzy".....and that'll do for now!

Ed, I just saw these pictures and a real nice article on the last page of the new Blade magazine. Very well done , Sir. They are a beautiful and unique gift for sure.
