Silk purses and sows ears...

So I've been working on that folder I bought and trying to pretty it up.

SO here it is nearly finished. Still have a few touch ups to do and have to add the belt clip back on.

All I can say is it could have been worse.

Be gentle.

Not bad, all things considered. The pic isn't clear enough for me to be sure how those scales are attached....hopefully not just glued on ....

I attached pins on the inside of the slabs, mated to already existing holes in the frame. Theres some glue in there as well.

The difficult part was opening up enough room for the frame lock and the thumb studs to function unimpeded. LOTS of hand filing and sanding.

But end of the day, it fills the hand nicely, still slides nicely into the pocket and clips solidly. Thicker, but still light.

I screwed up in getting a blade that didn't need bolsters, but I kinda like the result. Still easy to carry and use.

Yeah, Ray, the pictures suxor. My only digital camera took a dive on me, so I'm stuck using the camera on my phone.

Congrats on sticking with it! It didn't turn out bad at all.
